My Bio
When Cody Wells was five years old, his family moved to the country. Like many kids his age, he had a deep love of Legos. However, in his new country house, he also developed a deep fear of ghosts. His favorite movie was “Ghostbusters” so his father suggested to Cody that he build a ghost-trap out of his Legos. Doing just that, he realized that Legos could be so much more than the pre-formed sets that come with instructions and the rest, as they say, is history. Cody continued to build with Legos into adulthood, but never thought to pursue his talent as a career. In 2010, he was living in Missouri and working at a restaurant, figuring out what to do with his life. An actress named Katie passed through his restaurant while touring with a musical, and his life changed forever. She is now his fiancé and she convinced him not only to move to NYC, but to turn his passion into a career. “The first time I saw his work I completely blown away. It was truly art out Lego and I had never seen anything like it. I couldn’t wait for the day that the rest of the world saw his work too!” Moving to New York opened all sorts of doors for Cody, who has since gone on to become one of the most sought-after custom Lego designers in the country through his company C3Brix. He is an award-winning designer, winning the 2013 BRICKIE at Brickfair - Virginia (featured in “A Lego Brickumentary”) in TV & Sci-Fi for his Star Trek Enterprise. He was hired by the NY & NJ Port Authority to lead a Lego build of Queens, NY landmarks for the 50th Anniversary of the 1964 World’s Fair. On October 1st Cody and C3Brix aired on national TV on the Steve Harvey Show. Brought on to exemplify how a passion can lead to a business, he had the honor of presenting Steve Harvey with a Lego version of his head. As Steve said, while mildly in shock: “You can do all this with Lego? I can only build a wall!” Cody has proved that he is able to build far more than just a wall. He counts both celebrities and corporations among his clients, and his work can be found on display throughout New York and around the country. While this Astoria, NY resident has done major builds, he never tires of working with children and teaching them to use their imagination. “I have never forgotten where I started and I want to make sure kids today continue to use Legos outside of just the instructions in kits.” Most weekends Cody can be found at an NYC birthday party or bar/bat mitzvah. He is also the resident Lego designer at Little Shop of Crafts on the Upper West Side. “C3Brix motto is ‘Rebuild Your Childhood.’ I want to make sure the next generation is encouraged to do the same.” C3Brix can be found on-line on all social media and via the website www.C3Brix.com Cody can be contacted directly at (816) 351-0018 or C3Brix@gmail.com.
